Sift the paydirt through a screen and toss out the big rocks. Is that one shiny?
Sit by a crackling campfire at the creek and pan for gold, one calm scoop at a time. Real panning steps, funny mining songs on the radio, no timer and no way to fail.
Real panning, made relaxing
Every pan follows real placer panning technique. Hold and drag to work the pan, and a gentle pace gauge shows when your swirling is just right. Mistakes only slow you down, but rush the water steps and the creek takes a speck or two.

Knead the clay lumps apart, then shake the pan level under water until the gold sinks to the bottom.
Swirl the light gravel over the rim, then fan the black sand with gentle circles. The gold lags behind at the tail.
Suck each speck of colour into your vial with a snuffer bottle. Flakes, pickers and the odd nugget add up.
The camp
Between pans, sit back and watch the water. On Steam the camp moves from a bright morning to a warm dusk to a starry night with northern lights and fireflies, or pick your favourite with the pocket watch. On phones it's always night.
